No matter where in America you’re celebrating this holiday, give your Fourth of July barbecue fireworks with these fun and festive tips from the event designers at PartyRoom.
Use food to enhance your color palette
The use of fresh ingredients is a must during a summer soiree, not only does to amplify the flavors of the food it will add to the overall look of your gathering. Fresh berries are the perfect addition to an other wise blandly colored cheese board. Fresh lobster tails add a pop of flavor and color to the table, especially if you’re hosting on the coast.
Keep The Color Palette Clean
The color palette for Fourth of July is already decided with red, white, and blue. Instead of using the patterning of the flag on every surface we recommend using only the colors of the flag. This gives the table a fresh look without over selling the theme. We love the idea of a navy table cloth and alternating red and white fabric napkins to represent the stripes of the flag. Blue Glassware with red florals is another way to accentuate the colors. Alternating chair colors is another twist on representing the stars and stripes.
Use Unexpected Elements
Patterns from the flag don’t have to be the only element of decor. Pennants add a nautical element to the space, the perfect addition if the menu is mostly sea food giving the event a cohesive flow. Umbrellas could be put to use as unexpected decor, particularly in areas with unpredictable showers.
Let Sparks Fly!
Use sparklers to add a punch to the celebration. They are the perfect cake topper and can be a fun activity for the kids…with adult supervision of course!
Be Respectful
With all the fun and festivities that come along with this holiday it is most important to remember to be respectful of the flag. A flag should never touch the ground or be draped across furniture as a decor item. Having it properly hung is of course a great idea!
From your friend’s at PartyRoom have a safe and celebratory Fourth of July!!
